Artist Statement

I discovered my passion for creating when I was a young child.  My hands were either creating small worlds with play-doh, broken toys and nature finds.  The dirt became mountains, the grass, a jungle to thread through.  The dandelion weeds were giant colorful trees.  Not growing up with many of the basic toys that most kids had, I had an infinite amount of stories I would create with what I had.

Hi, I am Elsa, within me is a deep love affair for creating and the artist behind these offerings. While my main medium is ceramic clay, I will occasionally experiment with paper clay and a variety of fibers to appease my inner curious child.  The constant is following my natural curiosity to satisfy that inner child within.

Besides creating and making, I have a cavernous yearning for the calm of the forest, her bird songs and the magic healing that our natural world offers. At my studio, I bring this love of our Earth with care for the products I use. I am but a minuscule spark compared to the lifetime of our planet and hope that the footprint I leave behind is mostly life-inspiring art in a softer world for our future generations.
