Artist Statement

I discovered my passion for creating when I was a young child.  My hands were either creating small worlds with play-doh, the dirt became mounds or hills, the grass, a jungle to thread through.  The dandelion weeds were giant colorful trees.

Hello, I am Elsa Woerner, within me is a deep love affair for creating and the artist behind these offerings. While my main medium is ceramic clay, I will more than occasionally experiment with paper clay and a variety of fibers to appease my inner curious child.

Besides creating and making, I have a cavernous yearning for the calm of the forest, her bird songs and the magic healing that our natural world offers. At my studio, I bring this love of our Earth with care for the products I use. I am but a minuscule spark compared to the lifetime of our planet and hope that the footprint I leave behind is mostly life-inspiring art.

I acknowledge that I am on the indigenous land of the Miwok people and pay my respect to the Elders, both past, present and emerging.
